About

Skrot Up is a record label.
Put it in your ear.

Description
Skrot Up was started in Copenhagen in 2008 by Thomas and Morten, two longtime friends who were both recovering from a 10+ year record collecting-binge.
A mutual interest in some of the golden sounds being spread via myspace (back when it didn't suck) led them to reincarnate their previous musical endeavors that also included playing in bands, and arranging shows into a new constellation, and Skrot Up began.
For economical reasons, it was decided to focus on cassettes to begin with and early 2009 Skrot Up put out its first two releases: FNU Ronnies' ”Golem” and Blood!'s ”Evacuated Materials”.
Since then, a non-streamline series of tapes and records have come out on Skrot Up, the musical motto seemingly steering towards ”the more different – the better, with the added benefit of seeing things connect even if it wasn’t planned in the first place”.
Further developments took place in March 2010, when the two friends traveled to Austin, TX for an impromptu gathering co-hosted by the Free Loving Anarchists and Human Non record labels. Here, they tasted a lot of great Mexican food, made some new friends, and saw awesome bands perform in a living room.
All this and the joy of persevering a tactile relationship with music through dubbing tapes, and folding and glueing jackets etc., has renewed the Skrot Up folks' faith in the spiritual and healing aspects of making and sharing music, causing them to continue expanding on the record label experience in 2012.
